Week of May 18th - May 22nd: We are moving into review and project based learning as the year is closing out. Math English, Social studies, Science, and Fine Arts instruction will be combined with students completing a few engaging activities that relate to the real world.
Monday 18thMath
This week we will be focusing on finding out what your strengths are in math. Take the "Spring 2016 Grade 3 Math Item Release" on edulastic and review the scores with the goal of choosing a topic that you will teach later this week. ELA
We will be doing a reading unit for the next two weeks. Students will read "Razorbacks" and answer related comprehension questions on edulastic. This is a long text so students will have two days to complete each section of reading and questions. Link to Text Link to Questions Science
Mission 1 Step 1: Go to Google Earth Step 2: Click the magnifying glass on the left side of the screen. Step 3: Type " Rocky Mountains" in the search bar and hit enter. Explore the Rocky mountains on Google Earth.
Try zooming in and looking around. Step 4: Now that you know what mountains look like on Earth's surface- Look around the planet for another mountain or mountain range. Have fun, mountains can be ANYWHERE! |

You will become a teacher this week. Your goal is to create a way to teach next year’s third graders a topic that you feel that you understand very well. Some ideas for ways that you can teach your concept are below. Be creative and think about what would have helped you when you were learning the topic. -Create a poster that explains the steps to solving a specific problem -Make a video that explains your topic (you can discuss vocabulary, show how to use manipulatives, show the steps of how to complete a problem) -Design and label a diagram - Create a “cheat sheet” to help remember important vocabulary or reminders ELA

Try zooming in and looking around. Step 4: Now that you know what the ocean, a lake, and a river look like on Earth's surface- Look around the planet for other examples of bodies of water. Have fun, look around the whole planet! |
