Week of May 11th - May 15th: We are moving into review and project based learning as the year is closing out. Math English, Social studies, Science, and Fine Arts instruction will be combined with students completing a few engaging activities that relate to the real world.
Monday 11thMath + ELA
Step 1- Go to your graded assignments and review your scores on last week's review assignments. Step 2- Choose one of the specific topics to improve on this week. Mission 1 This week you are going to create a replica or model of an invention! You have all week to create your replica. Step 1: Explore this website and check out some inventions from history! Step 2: Choose one invention from the list that you like or think is important and use the timeline to learn more about that invention. Step 3: Log in to Edulastic and complete the writing assignment: Invention Writing Day 1 Step 4: Take time to plan or begin creating a model of the invention you chose! Science/ ELA
Mission 1 This Week you are going to create an observation journal! Step 1: Grab a notebook or paper and something to write with. Step 2: Go outside and find any bugs that you can. Take notes on the bugs that you find and write down any adaptations that you see that would help the bug to survive. For Example: A beetle might have a horn on its head to defend itself against predators. Try to find at LEAST 3 different bugs and take observation notes on each one. Draw pictures too! |
Tuesday 12thMath + ELA
Step 1- Recall the topic that you chose to improve Step 2- Practice your topic. You can choose to play a game, search youtube, go to khan academy, or search the web with an adult to work on the topic that you chose. Wednesday 13thMath Two Day Project
You will create a board game with aspects related to the topic you chose at the beginning of the week. You will completely create your own rules for what the board will look like, how you will challenge players with math questions you create, what the game pieces will look like, along with how players move forward towards an end goal.
